SHERPAEXPLORE ASSOCIATION
Founded in 2007 by Dawa Dachhiri Sherpa, a Nepali ultra-trail runner and cross-country skier, our association actively works to improve the well-being and development of Nepali communities, particularly in the Solukhumbu Valley, home to the majestic peaks of the Everest region. THE ASSOCIATION “PARRAINS ET MARRAINES POUR LE NÉPAL” MAINLY SERVES THE VILLAGES OF TAKSINDU AND CHHULEMU, NESTLED IN THE EVEREST VALLEY, 280 KILOMETERS FROM KATHMANDU. The “PARRAINS ET MARRAINES POUR LE NÉPAL” association focuses its efforts on the villages of Taksindu and Chhulemu, located in the Everest Valley, approximately 280 kilometers from Kathmandu

OUR MISSION
Tourism has transformed the Himalayas, but not all communities have benefited equally. Our association was created to ensure sustainable development reaches every corner of the mountains.
We work directly with local communities to identify their most pressing needs and co-create solutions that are culturally appropriate and sustainable.
Our projects prioritize environmental conservation, waste management, and promoting eco-friendly practices in vulnerable mountain ecosystems.
We believe education is the foundation for sustainable development. We support schools, scholarships, and vocational training programs.
We work with dedication in the Khumbu Valley, focusing on key areas such as children’s education, creating a welcoming home for the elderly, providing access to medical care through our clinic, and supporting reconstruction after the 2015 earthquake. Join us in this inspiring human journey.
OUR JOURNEY
Since 2008, we have been implementing projects that make a tangible difference in the lives of Himalayan communities.
PARRAINS ET MARRAINES POUR LE NÉPAL is fully committed to supporting education for children in the Solu Valley. Our mission is to ensure every child has access to a quality education, regardless of their family or financial circumstances.
Our elderly residents find a warm and supportive environment at the heart of the village, promoting independence while providing attentive care. A place where their experience and wisdom are celebrated, creating an intergenerational community united by kindness and respect.
Established in 2012 by Pascal Zellner de l’Iffremont, the Taksindu Clinic provides accessible health services for all, ensuring that essential care is available to everyone. With a dedicated team, the clinic is much more than a medical facility—it is a pillar of the community.
Following the devastating earthquakes of April 2015, a large reconstruction effort was launched thanks to generous donors. Initial emergency measures provided tarps and sheets, giving critical temporary shelter to affected villagers. By June 2015, major efforts were underway to rebuild and strengthen damaged homes. On behalf of the villagers, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all donors whose generosity supplied the materials needed for reconstruction. To date: • 10 homes were rebuilt almost entirely • 12 homes were repaired • 3 homes received minor rehabilitation • 5 homes still require reconstruction

All donations are processed in USD.
