An 18 to 20 day expedition combining the classic Everest Base Camp trek with the summit of Island Peak (Imja Tse) at 6,189 metres - the most popular trekking peak in Nepal and the ideal first high-altitude climb for those who want a genuine mountaineering experience alongside one of the world's great treks. The route follows the standard EBC trail through Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Dingboche before branching into the Imja valley for the approach to Island Peak Base Camp and the summit. The climb involves a fixed-rope headwall section and a final ridge to the summit, making it more technically demanding than Mera Peak but well within reach of fit trekkers with no prior climbing experience. The route starts and ends in Lukla.
